A Heartfelt Thank You!

Dear Friends,

I want to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful people who made it possible to honor my son Kyle Brennan. Visiting his grave, I am overwhelmed and at a loss for words when I consider everyone’s amazing generosity.

Accompanying this note, you’ll see photos of Kyle’s gorgeous headstone and the beautifully inscribed granite tablet that now rests above my lost son’s heart. This last piece was the gift of John McGhee, a faithful friend who fulfilled one of Kyle’s dreams. He’d always wanted to visit Ireland, especially Rosbeg Bay, where his favorite childhood movie, “The Secret of Roan Inish,” was filmed. Although that wish was denied him in life, a piece of Irish granite—baptized in Rosbeg’s frigid waters and cut with the refrain from Yeats’s “The Stolen Child”—will rest with him forevermore.

A heartfelt thank you; Kyle's Memorial Marker 003

The Church of Scientology’s dictatorial control over its adherents is not just deeply disturbing—it’s also immoral and dangerous. Brainwashed by their religion, Scientologist’s seem to lose concept of the boundary separating right from wrong. They’ve been told by the Church’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, that in the pursuance of a “just cause”—Scientology, of course—it’s perfectly acceptable to step across that boundary at will. They’ve been taught that the collective, the organization—the Church of Scientology—comes first. It comes before them, before their families, and sometimes even before the lives of their children.
